Sooo glad you weren't hurt further. I'm going to the store today and plan on picking up all the medicines you mentioned. Someone else once mentioned something for scorpion(haven't seen one...knock on wood) stings...does anybody want to tell me so's I can add it to my list? Thanks everyone

Pioneer......when you go to the drugstore I was told the best medicine is spirits of ammonia.....not household ammonia. Suposedly takes the sting out of a bite(or sting )!

Default rattler facts, from a 57 year farmer

rattlers are nothing but a crawling land mine.
they kill toads, and lizards mostly and these two near perfect citters
could make it so no one would need pesticides.
Rattlers eat only 2% of all the rodents,
at the same time they bite 2 million livestock yearly around the world, they bite 3 million pets yearly, and over 400,000 people yealry are bitten.
with hard to come by numbers as so many third world countries do not keep records. but a real close guess by my friend in the United Nations says near 50,000 yearly die from lack of anti venom.
If you see and let go one female pregnant rattler, in just 10 years it and its offspring can produce 7,000 rattlers. Snake lovers like to make up numbers like 10 people die yealry from snake bites. Rest assured, rattlers are your enemy. I hope you never have to hold a dead child from a snake bite. It was the worst day of my life. See anti venom does not always work but then they forget to tell you that.
number one terrorist in the world is posionous snakes, as they killed from the garden of Eden to the present more people than Hitler did.
I will get off my soap box now.
