Texas & OU are going to be cherrypicking the state as usual, while aggy is now gonna have to battle the SEC teams for the leftovers...in addition to Tech, OSU, & Baylor.

If anything, A&M should be able to get more and better recruits now that they are in the SEC, not less. You're hate for A&M is showing. Take off your Bevo glasses. A&M will be just fine recruiting wise. They are already doing pretty good as is. You don't think they'll be able to attract more top recruits since they are heading to a better conference? Really?

If you are assuming more of the quality Texas HS players will be recruited by A&M just because they moved to the SEC, then you are wrong.

If you are assuming A&M will have a pipeline to recruit quality kids from the southeast, then you would be wrong again.

Maroon glasses, how do they work - look how well it worked out for Arkansas. A&M is being used by the SEC to invade Texas, and they needed another punching bag.

I don't hate A&M. How can one hate their little brother?

Like most Texas fans I am happy y'all are leaving, as it could lead to the dissolution of the Dinky Dozen.

I root for the Horns but I can see why little brother (A&M) wants to get bigger. nothing wrong with that. Some of those SEC students that visit A&M will end up at Texas anyway once they find out whose the better team from Texas

I just wanna keep the rivalry and hopefully have Texas themselves end up playing SEC teams and stop playing all the cupcakes in the Big 12

Here's something interesting that nobody has pointed out yet...Of the teams in the SEC, which will include A&M at some point, there will be 5 teams with Maroon as their color:

Mississippi State
Arkansas
Alabama
South Carolina
*A&M

the quesion now is....which team has the coolest logo?

I choose Alabama...the Elephant. and Rolando McClain on the Raiders...

No, nothing wrong with that. What Texas fans can't understand is why A&M doesn't start their own network channel. After all, UT developed the LHN to better themselves.

Texas already has a 40-27-3 record against the SEC schools. Too bad Colt got hurt ine Rose Bowl, or that record would be a little better. Dunno if we have any future home & homes with them.

It matters not to me if UT & A&M ever play post-Big 12, but it will undoubtedly happen. IIRC, after Arky left the SWC it was about 7 years before we played them again.

When the aggys go to the SEC, I imagine their #1 rival will be LSU (y'all had a pretty good one going there years ago), and next will be the piggies.

No, UT fans want to rub in the fact that A&M really can't make a successful Aggie Network. UT is one of the few schools who can pull something like that off. Good for them. A&M is going to be a lot better off under a revenue-sharing conference-run model where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

The Longhorn Network really shows that what UT is most interested in is money. They already have more money for sports than any university in the country. By far.

Yet last year they had just the 12th best sports program based on the Directors Cup standings. In 2010 they were 15th. In 2009 they were 6th. In 2008 they were 5th, and in 2007 they were 8th.

As spending rises, on field performance seems to go down at UT.

If I had control of the NCAA, I would not permit any university to have their own sports networks for NCAA sports. It is simply driving up the cost of college sports and I cannot think of one good thing that has happened as a result.

If I were a UT fan, I'd want some of that ESPN money used to lower ticket prices. Or fund new sports. Add men's wrestling and womens beach volleyball. Or lacrosse.
