Default Perry Jobs Myth??

REPORT: Texas Ranks Dead Last In Total Job Creation, Accounting For Labor Force Growth | ThinkProgress

Thoughts?

Do we want the whole US to mirror one of the worst ranked states in everything?

50th in percentage of population without health insurance (2010)

50th in percentage of children insured (2009)

50th in percentage of women receiving early prenatal care (2010)

45th in rate of infectious diseases (2010)

44th in percentage of children in poverty (2010)

42nd in per capita health care funding (2010)

40th in overall health (2010)

36th in high school graduation rate (2010)

35th in crime (2010)

35th in percentage of children immunized (2010)

34th in rate of occupational fatalities (2010)

30th in percentage of people with college degree (2008)

Texas also ranks:

1st in amount of recognized carcinogens released into the air (2002)

4th highest in release of toxic chemicals into the environment (2002)

8th highest in percentage of people below poverty level (2008)

13th highest in obesity (2010)

etc, etc, etc, etc

Now, I truly wish that all of these things were not true, but sadly, they are.

don't forget the high poverty and teenage pregnancy rates and the high levels of people on public assistance.

The number of sanctuary cities (well the whole darn state is a sanctuary).

Perry's continued support of that NAFTA superhighway...

Budget deficit, etc. How can he run on any ticket? And who are the people voting for him? How did he win Texas? Really. I don't understand. I don't even know a single person who voted for him, regardless of political affiliation.

Yeah, there are groups of people who live and breathe myths (such as those people indicated above). These people don't live in the realm of reality, or give a damn about it. They're the same folks trying to completely take over control this county, and run it into the ground. As long as their destructive ways benefit themselves and their buddies, they don't care what else happens: people becoming more poor, more powerless, more down and defeated, more uneducated, etc. All these things knock people down, and get them out of the way; reducing competition for them. They use their power to take more away from others and give more to themselves. The cycle and the intensity continues as more keep supporting them. Slugs...

Putting together the fact that he has been contantly re-elected as governer, and then previously GW Bush also was governer for a long time, and you can see that this crap has been going on for a long time. It all comes down to the intelligence (or lack thereof) of many around. Too many aren't analytical and observant enough to see the big picture, and like Pavlog's Doggies, simply push the button for the jokester that pulls the wool over the most persons' eyes. Mindless existing on this earth, and mindless contributing to our own downward spiral.

Let's remember that this is a forum for grown ups.

I enjoy living in Texas, but it has major problems. Rather than accept mediocre living standards, I would like to improve the quality of this state, and so would most of my friends. To suggest that everyone who didn't vote for Perry should leave the state sounds like a 5 year old. To deny that Texas has all of these major problems based upon facts is flat out ignorant.

To assume that people who make ignorant, childish posts probably voted for Perry is reasonable. And, now that I have been enlightened by your words, they are an indicator of how he became Governor, you know, given that Texas is bad for education and is stereotyped as being full of morons.

Yeah right, Obama this, Obama that. It takes lots of intelligence to babble the same name over and over mindlessly. You're a perfect puppet of the noisemakers, and have been trained well by them. You serve them like the pawn they want you to be: Focus on one person or one party as the sole source of all of our problems. In other words, get the focus off of them.

You should instead be looking at what's common, i.e. what they (both parties) share. They are all part of the problem, and all live by the same failed ways that make up modern-day politics in Washington and in the state capitols.

They all are grossly overpaid and see nothing wrong with it. They secretly allow salary increases, and hide that and many other things from the public. They have tons of perks and privileges that they should be paying for, but instead have you and I pay for (because they're such great Humans after all). They serve the lobbyists and the big buddy donors, instead of the American people. They see nothing wrong with the broken and disfunction system we have today, and continue to support it and live by it. Should I go on? Are you paying attention?

Um.... look at the source! It even admits it was voted "best liberal blog". Of course anything they publish is likely to be biased and/or full of spin or manipulated statistics to try and push an agenda.

Check Bizjournals or something without all the bias on this issue.
