OMG, it's unbelievable how many states we have here in Texas helping out! We've had a National Forestestry fighter group camped out at a close by hotel all summer...I think their still here but not sure.

Anyhow, we greatly appreciate it for sure!

I only knew of CA helping in my area, but I'm sure there are forestry service people from all over. Yes, I know Texas would do the same.

I'm so upset. The weatherman last night said it would be months before we get any relief and next week again, we may hit triple digits. This, to me, is very scary.

It's Dallas what do you expect?

Dang, we're back in Midland and the weather has been nice, about 85 degrees...it's been overcast today. I guess we better stay here instead of racing back to Dallas.

Dallas-Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday = 97, 100, 97, 95, 88

Midland - 95, 95 91, 88, 86

Don't let the weather keep you away from Dallas. At this point, what's a few degrees difference?

It really is. My parents live in the country, and they and their neighbors look out the window often during the day and night, checking for fire. It's really just something waiting to go up in flames. Frightening. I've never seen the outlook so bleak, not in my time here.

La Nina is supposed to bring a dry winter...and I've read that we're not even in the wildfire season yet?

I live rurally as well and am very apprehensive about all of this. One never knows if a fire will be in our front yard next. In all my life, I've never been this worried about wildfires, not even when I lived in southern California. In fact, I was never worried about them when I lived there. I heard that La Nina comment as well. Not good, not good at all.

That's correct. Autumn is traditionally known as the wildfire season.

Yes ma'am, We're probably going to head back sometime this week. The temp really isn't a big issue for us as much as the allergies. I think these fires are playing hell with my wife and son and their allergies.
