I have three stops for interviews/meet and greets:

1) Killeen (Ft Hood)..and if i decide on that job, i will want to live in Lampasas
2) Colorado City
3) Amarillo...and if i decide on that job, i will live on the outskirts e.g. Canyon, Panhandle, Claude, Groom etc

I will decide which job to take mostly based on which area I like the best (because there are tons of jobs everywhere, so even if the job isnt something i really like, it wont matter, I want to live somewhere I love, feel comfortable in, and could see myself settle down, buy a house and land etc..

So stand by for my trip report. And if anyone has any insider info on life in Colorado City, i sure would appreciate it. I have already done as much research as I can on internet and through chamber of commerce. It sounds like a great place....not so sure for social life though, being a semi-young single female........

What a contrast of locales you have for your upcoming interviews.

Please keep us posted. I am REALLY curious as to which one you select. They are all so vastly different.

Bellestar,
If you're going to Colorado City, you'll be coming through Abilene. I'd be happy to meet you for coffee at something off I-20 if you're bored and would like some company. (Probably Cracker Barrel would be good.) Colorado City is about 60 miles west of Abilene and the folks I've met from there say they do most of their shopping in Abi.

PM me, if you'd like. I'm disabled so I'm home all of the time and could meet up with you whenever.

Julie

Hope you find what you're looking for. Just curious though, thought you were going to check out Brownwood.

i would like to but i have decided not to do civilian or free world nursing again. so it's between prison or army jobs and making no exceptions. as much as i would love to live in Brownwood and have a good friend there........Havens State Jail aint hiring RN's right now, plus i prefer to work prison vs state jail anyway!
