I dont see anything too wrong with anyone asking to live by a certain race. People are allowed to live where they wish.

I personally love diversity and want to live in an area where lots of different kinds of people exist, but a lot of people are not like me.

To answer the OP's question, I would look at Bullard or Frankston just outside Tyler.

Why is that an issue? I am color blind so I am not sure what color I am. Only a bigot would make issues of color, race, gender, locality, etc..

When I fill out a questionnaire I always state myself as "other" or "mixed".

Easily much worse odds for your welfare. Yet you would still make that choice based on ... what?

I think that could possibly be a bigoted attitude against the people of Vidor. If so then what a shame such hate is propagated here. Guess that what makes the world go around ... haltingly, jerkily, on all the hate speed bumps.

No one yet has answered my questions about the shootings, assaults, and lynchings of of non-whites in Vidor. How about Houston and Baton Rouge?

How about black on white felonious crimes ? Any stats? Examples? News reports? Should I do the search? Just curious about that "sharp" double edged knife.

LAST WARNING: We're NOT going to have a freewheeling discussion about race in the Texas forum. That's a topic for the P&OC forum. If you don't have a place to recommend or advice for how to locate a place, you don't have a post for this thread.

As others have mentioned, Whitehouse or Bullard would be a good fit. Southern Smith County is beautiful and it's a quick drive to Tyler.
I would also second Lumberton if you wanted to live in the Golden Triangle area. Haven't spent much time in Vidor, but it has produced some country music singers: George Jones, Tracy Byrd, and Clay Walker.

Also fitting your criteria would be Canton. White, cheap, school district rated exemplary in 2011. Not sure about jobs, but you are 60 miles from downtown Dallas and 40 miles from downtown Tyler.

If Colorado is of any interest to you, Boulder would also fit most of your requirements. You can spend all day talking about how tolerant you are with the other 89% of the city who are also white.

Okay, I have a suggestion. If you're willing to go for a place in the eastern part of central Texas, still east of center, go for Salado.

Salado is an artsy community of mostly white people (according to City-Data) nestled within the "diverse" area commonly called Central Texas.

It has the highest white percentage in central Texas, at 92.2%.

It has the lowest crime rate in central Texas, at a City-Data crime index of 50.2 (2009).

It has the highest average property value in central Texas- you can expect to pay well in excess of $100,000 for a half-duplex.

So, you get what you pay for, in the end... but it might be what you're looking for, if you can deal with the fact that it is also a tourist trap at certain times of the year.

Question for the OP...
Does it have to be in East Texas?
What about Louisiana or Arkansas?

What's the point of this post. Just move to West Texas. You can drive hundreds of miles, and see more Dairy Queens than black dudes.

Where can I go in Louisiana, and not see any brothers?

I'm interested in somewhere that's affordable to live, has good schools and plenty of work opportunities.

I've decided to move out of the longview area because alot of the white population seems to be leaving and I'm not sure if they're leaving the East Texas area or if they are moving to another area within East Texas that I'm unaware of and I'm trying to figure out where they went and where I can go.

I've heard most are out in the hallsville and diana area these days as alot of the minority populations are moving into the pine tree and spring hill districts. But I can't find any information on the demographics for these schools and areas.

Help much appreciated.
ever considered port arthur....

Yes, but the Mexican-American population is steadily becoming a greater percentage of the population out there and the OP is looking for white enclaves. Too bad he didn't know about Grand Junction, Colorado back in the early 1980s. I got news for the OP: this is a futile quest, given North American demographic trends. Best to adjust to reality rather than trying to hide away from it.
