p.s. i forgot to say.......i didnt realize how much i missed seeing LIMESTONE! i almost forgot about that since it's been several years since living in North Texas.
Gatesville seems alot like Graham (a town i used to live in)....with the drive-in movie theater and all! i think i will love it!
would love to hear what anyone has to say about Gatesville and Coryell County........

Thanks for the pics! It's always great to learn and see more of Texas (especially places I haven't been to). Looks like a clean area(s). Some areas looked like parts of East Texas fused with the hill country. I think the architecture looks like East Texas.

Driving alone on road trips like this causes a man (and woman) to do a lot of thinking, eh?

If you got more, post em!

P.S> The guy I help out on Saturdays trained at FT. HOOD in 1944-45. Lots of history there.

Congrats, Belles, so glad you found a nice place to land! A friend of mine suggested I look into Ft. Hood military base to work, said is a nice place for civilian jobs. May still look into it! Don't know alot about Gatesville though. Keep us posted!

Ok, guys, I think I know what the arch "thing" on the Ft. Hood picture is. Upon very close study it is the reflection of Belle's steering wheel in the window. If you look close you can see her left hand on the wheel. Her hand appears to be in the trees. She was driving west and the sun was coming in the cab, bouncing off the steering wheel and creating the perfect arch in the reflection on the passenger window. We can conclude that her window was up and she was indeed driving by.
