Central Texas [well Waco area anyways] is looking really nice this year! Who said leaves don't change colors here??? Very beautiful; especially around Cameron Park.

It's nice that you can be satisfied with little.

And December's rather late for autumn colour, isn't it?

I guess, but it looks really nice. Just the other day I took a nice little drive around the city and was just amazed by it all. It's not VA or NE, but it's still nice. I wish I had my camera working; I'd take pictures.

can't believe you don't have any pictures. I should warm up my pimp hand on your face.

Anyway, I have always thought that central Texas was one of the most beautiful areas of the state. The Brazos watershed area is gorgeous

East Texas has had beautiful colors this year too. I am quite surprised given the exceptional drought conditions we had this summer.

Same here. I wasn't prepared for the array of colors we are seeing right now. Perhaps the recent rains had something to do with it? In any case, the hills along 360 in Austin are putting out some really pretty color.

Yeah, I came through Austin going home and it was very nice. It's really nice. The colors aren't dull either; very vibrant and bright. Just out in my front yard; there is an array of yellow, orange, red, green and dead trees lol

What a condecending comment from someone in another part of the country. I can only hope there was a little satire in that.

FYI, my trees still have a full canopy of green leaves. Seasons do change at different times this far South. Many areas around here are just now seeing a change of color. It's quite nice.

You are wrong on this one Doc. Texas is unusually colorful this year. Autumn happens when it gets cold enough, it doesn't watch the calendar. Fall is always later here. The weather has not been cold until recently.

How come I don't recall any decent Fall in Texas (Austin, Fort Worth, Lubbock, Beaumont) between 1970 and 2004, then? By which I mean Colour -- on an East Coast scale. Of any of those places, the one that came closest to having some autumn colour was Beaumont, strictly due to the number of Chinese Tallow trees there. And yes, I know about Lost Maples State Park...
