I haven't been to all the places listed in the poll, but to most of them. I think the poll is missing some options (evidenced by the two posts above mine).

Parts of Waco are really nice. Especially Cameron Park and along the Brazos River.

Austin really has it going on, but I'm a fan of El Paso's craggy desert mountains.

Yeah, I know. I thought of that after I made the poll. Need a list of about 20-30 places spread all through the state.

Maybe, I should of broke it down into east texas, central texas, etc

I said Austin, my old home. Glad to find myself in the majority on this poll. Austin used to be a lot more scenic in the 1970s, but at the same time there were fewer good roads to really enjoy the surrounding Hill Country back then. The development West of the old boundaries of the City have cluttered up the hills with houses, yet the same development has brought roads with breath-taking views.

It's still the best place in Texas.
