Hi everyone! I recently registered and titled my car in VA. I was under the assumption that I can turn in my TX plates to the VA DMV. However, they told me I had to contact the office in TX to notify them that my car is not registered in TX anymore, etc and how to return my TX plates. I emailed Harris County Tax Office as to what I need to do. Of course I haven't heard back from them. If not, I'll probably drop them off at the DPS when I'm in town for Thanksgiving!

I've never been asked for the old ones. I have an old one on the wall in my stepkids' room. If I'm breaking a law, I've never been called on it!

If that's the case, I can keep it for memories. Yay!

Yes, you can keep them. There are a ton of restaurants that use them for decoration. I'd hold on to them. We have our old personalized plates decorating our garage denoting who parks in which spot.

I have lots of old Texas plates on our garage wall. At the big craft shows, there are vendors who bend them at a 45 degree angle and use them for roofs on birdhouses!

I've seen purses made out of them too.

Call it a good start on the decor for that BBQ restaurant you're going to open.

I folded mine in half and threw them in the recycle bin.
