Unfortunately, my german friends and in laws thought this restaurant was a D-.
New Braunfels is a beautiful old German city though. I guess I have to find a real Omi to cook a real good German meal/.

The best weiner schnitzel I have had is at Karl's on the Riverbend just outside of Houston. Owner Karl Kamenzind is Swiss, but wow, my stars is his food wunderbar.

We are originally from Austria and have been looking for good German or Austrian restaurants in the Hill Country. We came upon "Oma's Haus" in New Braunfels and thought it might be good. What a disappointment!! They need a trip back to the old country for a basic course in German/Austrian cooking. Their Wiener Schnitzel was terrible and the sad thing is, it is not hard to make a very good Wiener Schnitzel. I think you need to do what I do-- start cooking. So far the best German/Austrian food I have tasted in Texas has come out of my own kitchen. A tip- Quark or Topfen is called "Farmer's Cheese" in the US. Bon Appetit.

Beaucamp, My German wife and her friend had the same experience there. This is not to bash the place but it is what it is. So is a restaurant in the works for Beaucamp, if not is this an invite for dinner

I can think of 2 really good places, one in Fredericksburg, and another in west Houston (on San Felipe). But I can't remember the names of either place! I'll know them when I see them, and they both had wonderful food.

We've celebrated so many family occasions there and loved every minute of it.
If you're ever in Fort Worth, you have to go to Edelweiss! Whenever I lived in Fort Worth, we had many family outings there and we always had great food and a great time.
