In keeping with the college theme (I guess since it's grad season) and in honor of UTSA movin' up to the FBS (C-USA), here's their future athletic complex plans.... because God know's they'll need it.

Features:

(Spectator venues)
- 10,000 seat arena
- Baseball facility
- Softball facility
- Tennis complex
- 1,000 seat soccer stadium
- Track stadium (big enough to hold conference championships)/ throwing facility
- 35,000 seat football stadium

(Team Facility)
- Athletic Department offices
- Weight Room
- Locker Room
- Training Room

(Practice)
- 2 football fields (one with artificial turf)
- goalie/multi-purpose field
- batting cages

(Automotive/pedestrian)
- New roads
- New surface lots
- Parking Garage w/ Central plant and ground floor retail, right next to the track facility (just like UT)
- Pedestrian malls

While we aren't talking skyscrapers or major sporting stadiums, hopefully we get somewhere with this plan in Corpus Christi.
Destination Bayfront
Also, maybe, just maybe, we will attract Schlitterbahn to the island, and stop the 30 year cycle of refusing to grow as a city.

Even Fort Worth has that kind of problem....

Agree. I've been saying that for years. I remember I started a post a while back about this and a few Houstonians didn't agree. The big issue everyone keeps bringing up is drainage and flooding.

Yeah, I don't know what numbers they're looking at. We know Dallas doesn't have over 6 mil.

Seriously, MSN does get some things wrong. But one thing for certain is that Texas as a whole is doing pretty damn well in this economy.

neither does the city of Houston...but since they are saying 6 mill it has to be metro numbers....and DFW has 700 thousand more people.

Either way, it's still jacked.

I don't know how Forbes checks their numbers, but some are off...
