Default Like Opinions on areas around PALESTINE, TX

We're moving due to job to Palestine area, and want to find a small town with a COUNTRY feel that we can raise our family in. Elkhart? Frankston? Cayuga? Or are there others YOU recommend?

We're not rich by any means, but we hope to have 2-10 acres so the kids can raise animals for 4H. We want to find a place with a small-town FRIENDLY feeling, filled with country FOLKS and not just big-city Commuters, if you know what I mean. GOOD schools, Friday night football, Sunday church potlucks, weekend rodeos, neighbors helping neighbors, etc.

We're in Austin now but don't know East Texas towns too well, so would appreciate your opinions. How do we choose a town???
Thanx!

If you like that stuff you mentioned you will live it here but there's a lot of poor people that live around here and the drugs and petty crime are bad... I personally hate it here this town sucks and the so do the schools. Good luck to you but your probably already here
