I'd have to second that. I've always thought we've stopped at two in this state, and mother nature has to labor to get us a third.

I live in Northeast Texas and I 've yet to see a true winter. Our winter is probably like the rest of the country's fall season. My cousins moved to the Panhandle and they say that you see a harsher winter than we see. Personally I'm in the process of planning an exile from Texas as soon as I can afford a permanent one. As far as Arkansas goes, I lived there, in Searcy, through my four college years and it was nearly as mild as were I currently live. Good luck with your search.

I'm living in the midwest now and counting the days until I move back to TX (as a native Wisconsinite) The winters are entirely too long here. I'd take "summer" and "almost summer" over 6mos of winter anyday. But that's me. As someone who's experienced both extremes (TX summers and WI winters), I would much rather have the heat. Not only does it get cold but it's frequently overcast from fall to late spring and the summer really doesn't get started until mid June and lasts, if you're lucky, until mid-August. I'm talking in terms of camping/boating weather. I won't lie, when I came back to WI I had forgotten how awesome fall is with the colors. However, that's completely tempered by the dismal knowledge that I'm in for another long, cold, miserable winter.

I wouldn't like that long of a winter either. I'm looking for a happy in-between.

It all depends on how much of a winter you want. Fort Worth has one, but not much of one, except in exceptional years. (93 degrees on October 1st, like we had today, is absurd.) Northern New Mexico definitely has cold enough winters to satisfy almost anyone.

I would suggest Abilene or Amarillo in Texas. Northern New Mexico out of state.

Best of luck to you!
