Yep, something like 102--ugh!!

Supposed to be 90 here tomorrow, and I don't even like that.....

Then, it will moderate after that.

San Angelo. My parents moved me there when I was 12 but I didn't appreciate it until I moved away in my 20s. ASU was such a good school I wish I'd finished there. I found the people really nice and it was a great place to be in high school. Big enough to have things to do but small town manners and cute cowboys didn't hurt the appeal. After some experiences in deep E. Tx I realized here wasn't a lot of overt racism-I'm not saying it wasn't there but I didn't see it like I have elsewhere. Overall I wouldn't mind living there again at all especially now that I have kids. And was my school smart! My husband from San Antonio thought he was going to some hick town at my first reunion. Was he shocked to see the education level compared to his high school

Me too second that choice! I would never move back to anywhere in Texas, but if some unforeseen circumstance required me to do so, I could take living in San Angelo over the others on the OP's list. But if I chose from all of the state, not just west Texas, I'd choose one of the lake communities of central Texas.

I was in Van Horn playing music last weekend. At around 90 degrees with sub-10% humidity and a stiff breeze blowing all day I thought it was downright pleasant, but the locals thought it was too hot so they moved a dance that had been scheduled outdoors in to an air conditioned venue. I'll take 90+ with no humidity over 80-90 with 95% humidity any day. Plus there's the additional discomfort caused by mosquitos, ticks, chiggers, and other pests that thrive in humid areas.

Lubbock.

I like the grid layout and the freeway system. Texas Tech would bring in more cultural amenities. Some damn good restaurants... not to mention Big 12 sports.

That is one of the benefits of living here in Abilene for sure. I can visit my family in DFW in about two hours by car and family in San Antonio is slightly over 4 hours by car. I'm a Texas Tech alumnus so Tech football games and other Big 12 sports are only 2.5 hours from here. I've lived in Midland, San Angelo, Lubbock and of course here in Abilene. There are all boring to live in except Lubbock...lol. However, because Abilene is closer to family and friends, I'll probably stay here a while longer.

If I HAD to live in any city again, it would definitely be Lubbock. It's on the High Plains and it's close to New Mexico.

Ive lived in amarillo all my life....i dont care for the weather.the summers are very hot,its windy year round, the winters are usually dry and very cold...i guess it has its own beauty, altho most people dont appreciate it..very flat..i think its prettier than lubbock..dont know much about the other towns..i personally, prefer the piney woods and the hill country.prettier, and more to do.
