have no insight on Livingston but have lived in Bedford for 20+ years--
this this is a good town--some problems w/city council and citizen clique about holding down taxes and reducing city services which is still an under current--
most neightborhoods are older but people still maintain homes pretty well...
apartments vary--better ones are N of 183 freeway ...don't know prices...

restaurants in Bedford -- probably Pappadoux is highest priced meals--stays pretty busy--but there are lots of chains like Razoo's, Chili's, Bennigan's, Texas Land and Cattle, Duke's (a new one that seems to do good bar business)--
towns like Colleyville, Southlake, Arlington, Irving, N Richland Hills, even Fort Worth are not that far--lots of different restaurants--chains, locals, high-dollar---don't know about how easy it would be to get work...
There is really NO public transportation in this area--you can catch the TRE (Trinity Rail Express) from a couple of stops E of FTW and ride it into downtown area and then take city bus ... but you need a car to get anywhere...

HEB ISD is school district for Bedford--apartments feed into diferent schools depending on where they are and the needs of the schools to level out attendance--most apartment kids are bussed to schools and might have an early pickup---the district offers fairly low cost child care after school if you need that--some locations might be crowded now that school has started (I don't know how that works--just know that the district does it)...
HEB has good teachers--offers some good programs--older district with multi-ethnic student body and lots of kids are free lunch...but most of the schools do a good job teaching--their scores probably don't show that in some cases...

Meadow Creek elementary has apartments fairly close to it and it was rated Exemplary last year on TAKS--highest score--

Lakewood in Euless (same district just a little farther east in next town) also rated Exemplary and there are some apartments in walking distance there as well--some of that general neighborhood is not so nice but school is good...

Bedford has some nice parks, good library, fairly easy commute to FTW area or DFW airport area--not so easy to Las Colinas or Dallas proper...
