I am wanting to know of any ideas of cheap wedding ideas in the Dallas/Mesquite area. I am on a fixed budget of about $1000 and we will have no more than 50 people there. I am interested in an all inclusive place that we could have a ceremony and a reception. I will be doing all the food myself to save. The wedding will be in October. I wished there were places like in Vegas but no such luck in searching. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Know anyone that owns a little land around DFW, maybe they would be willing to help you out.

If you aren't serving alcohol, you could try a small church with a reception hall.

I don't know any place that will do a package for 50 people for $1000.
You could easily do an outdoor wedding in someone's back yard or a park with a simple reception.

Catholic/Lutheran/Episcopalian churches may not have issues with alcohol, but you can run that $1000 budget out in a hurry if you are providing . My sister had a Catholic/Lutheran wedding in a Catholic church, and it was very cheap if the family was a parish member....something like $50 for the priest and $100 for the organist? If not that, pretty close. The rehearsal dinner was in the Newman hall next door, which was a $50 deposit and clean up after yourself. Food was catered by Mamacitas and was about $6 or $7 a person with a 50 person minimum.

Anyway, not sure if any of that helps. Other costs, ofc, for decorations ($$$ for flowers), license, cake (which can be really steep if you want a 'real' wedding cake), photographer, and DJ. All those are easy to save money on, though. My niece got married at La Vallita in San Antonio. Lots of work to set up, but also really cheap. They did not have alcohol because the city required a guard for the duration of the event, which would have run more than the rest of the wedding.

If you do have it outside, be aware that tents or canopies of any size are outrageously expensive to rent and have set up - so you will just have to get wet if it rains.

Maybe a city park pavilion in a nearby community? Not exactly private, but you could set up fairly easily and have a cook-out/reception. The weather should be much cooler in October.

Also have you tried the Knot forums? Your budget is pretty tight, but they may be able to offer some suggestions.
