I have been quoted many rental prices for less than $600 in San Angelo. The issue for me is that as of right now, I am on the other side of the planet, and don't want to make a commitment online. I want to actually check many places. I might not even settle in San Angelo, or Texas, or the USA.

I have not resided in the US for about 20 years now, and dont want to get myself in a bad situation. So, some of these extended stay places seem to be a good way for me to stay "mobile".

You are absolutely correct, the bad part about these kind of places is: What comes with the total package ??? Some are just outright dangerous. Don't wanna go there !!!!!!!!

I sure do appreciate all the info and advice. These types of forums are invaluable.

Yeah, they are both in the not-so-nice part of town. I mean, if it was just you or something maybe you'd want to live there but certainly not forever! It is a nice town to retire to, the cost of living is relatively low and it seems decently safe.

I can't seem to find any houses to rent either right now. I'm looking for something around $700 a month with two bedrooms. I ended up having to come back to Michigan to wait for base housing which they've promised us several different move in times and we still have no idea when we will actually move in.

Does anyone know of any places that are available? I have scoured the interent and haven't had any luck. Why is it so hard to find a place to rest your head in little bitty San Angelo?!
