Hello,

I am kinda in a bind and I need help. I am a half white/half hispanic male and I will probably be needing to move soon. I can go to any major city in the state, but I have several concerns..

One, I have a bachelor's degree in History and I need to be in a place that has decent jobs that hires liberal arts grads. An example is Laredo. To me, Laredo is big, but it does not offer any good jobs at all. I need a city that will have decent jobs and not be so specific(like Houston).

Two, I will be homeless I am not happy about my situation, but there is nothing that I can do about it. I have learned to accept it. I heard San Antonio has a decent shelter and I think Austin may be nice. I have been to both of these places and I have enjoyed myself.

Third, and one of the most important, I need to go to a decent size city that has NICE people! I hear el paso has nice people, but no jobs So that kinda blows, but where I live now is horrible and people are EXTREMELY RUDE. I live near louisiana, near the coast and I honestly can't take it here anymore. The racism/cajun culture is suffocating me.

Is there any city like this that exists? I need a city that is open minded, nice/lots of people, that has a decent shelter(god this is embarrassing )

.
Here are the resources available to you in San Antonio:
- Housing Assistance Sources Besides Housing Authority?
- Listing of Food Pantries & Other Assistance in San Antonio
- Rent Assistance
- United Way 211 Help Line

Not necessarily recommending San Antonio to you - it's just the city with the known resources that could help you with your current situation.

As you've probably found, a liberal arts degree is a tough one to find suitable employment with these days. However, San Antonio does have several call centers where you at least might find employment.

Good luck to you!
