I don't dislike the Cowboys, but I truly do respect what the Texans have accomplished in their 10 years since entering the NFL as an expansion team. They are quickly becoming Texas' new team replacing the tired Cowboys, especially after making the play offs last season. The Cowboys havn't been "America's Team" since their back to back super bowl wins of the 90's. Until the owner fires himself & they start getting some players with clean criminal records they are never going to see another super bowl appearence.

I feel like this same discussion happens every year.

1. It's preseason. Wins and losses don't matter. The starters play half the game or less.

2. The Cowboys have been to the playoffs 4 times since the Texans became a franchise to the Texans' first appearance last season. And this is during the worst stretch of on the field play in Cowboys history.

No doubt the Texans were a much better team than the crap the Cowboys produced last year, but the Texans are hardly taking The Cowboys' place as Texas' team. The only teams in the NFL with comparable fanbases are the Steelers and the Packers. Dream on, Texans fans.

I'll be sure to get my popcorn ready.

The Cowboys are has beens & that is something the die hard fans (such as yourself & unnamed others on this board) can't seem to accept.

The Texans are the younger, spiritied, more talented team in Texas period.

Between criminal players like Dez & drunken, potty mouth, sleazeball owners not letting coaches be coaches is whats ruining the Cowboys repuation, fast. They are the laughing stock of the NFL.

Dallas has had the past 52 years to build & ruin their repuation while Houston has had 10.

Yeah, but the Texans are built for sustained success. It took a while and was about two years late, but now that they finally went over that playoff hump, they are going to take over. Look at the amount of national games they got this year after none last year. They are not going to take over the Cowboys in this state, but there is no doubt they have made huge inroads after just one playoff season. Their name helps.

I always thought the Cowboys had one of the most fickle fan bases of any team out there. When they're winning, the fans show up, thump their chests and holler, that's my boys! When they're losing, attendance drops, what does show up is about equal in the cheering and the booing section.

Oh the other hand, the old black & blue teams have what I call diehard, or better yet, hardcore fans. They cheer their team on and support them regardless if they're winning or losing. Yeah, sure, they're better cheering when they're winning, but they don't turn their backs on them like Cowboy fans will do. They attend the games to support their team in the sub-zero temps, butts frozen to the bleachers, sleet cutting their faces and yet they hang in there, even when their team is losing. I personally know some Bears fans and boy, they love their Bears. Through good and bad times, and they won't miss a game in either of them and the weather is not a factor when it comes to attending home games and cheering their team on.

Although there are some true Cowboy fans, the majority is just as apt to jump on the winning team's bandwagon as not. Yep, pretty fickle. But to the truly diehard Cowboy fans, please don't all jump on me at once. Think about it first and if you still disagree, go for it.

I was a Cowboy fan, win or lose...until they booted Tom Landry. Then, that was all she wrote as far as I was concerned. Besides that, after Landry, the players and the antics they engaged in off the field were sometimes just totally sleazy.

It's no longer the same team (Landry, Meredith, White, Too Tall, Pearson, Staubach, et al....not the same caliber at all, period.

This is when they were "America's Team", not these days.

Now the Dallas Cowboys are the laughing stock of the NFL.
