Nop, not in the least!

We've live through several end-of-hurricane storms, more inland. You still get high winds, damaging rain, floods, etc. IKE brought flooding and power outages to Austin, we were glad to have stocked up. It was only about 2 days w/o power, but still, those were two days. The stores do run low on stuff even inland, because supply routes, trucks, etc, are affected. Hey, it can't hurt to be prepared!

All that we're expected to get in San Antonio is some extra dry heat and a few days with zero precipitation, which is the norm when tropical systems make landfall to our east.

I remember a couple of years ago when Ike made landfall in the Houston area, we saw a high temperature of 107 the next day, as the system pulled all of the moisture from the atmosphere. That was the hottest temp I have seen here in 10 years.

It won't be nearly as bad with Isaac I'm sure. This storm is less healthy, despite its gaining strength. This storm won't affect SW La that badly, not compared to my area and east.

I'm happy for Arkansas and Missouri,
they had a really bad drought this year.

I'm so sick of hearing about this storm. This is all the media can talk about, like we've never had a hurricane before. My God, you'd think they were reporting the second coming of Jesus Christ. Tured on the TV this morning and there's 2 nutty reporters standing out in the blowing rain in N.O. whining how the strong winds were making the rain really pelt their faces. They don't have anything to say that the anchor hasn't already said, but there they stood. Good grief! Back to the anchor so she can repeat now what they just got through repeating from her previous report while I presume the 2 nuts sit it out in their van waiting for their next repeat performance. Don't know about anyone else, but it gets old with me..

I know, I should be use to it by now. We can't even have a simple thunderstorm here anymore without the weathermen going completely berserk about it. Really? Maybe they grew up in an area that never had thunderstorms. LOL Its gotten to the point, a spring rain has them breaking in telling us IT'S RAINING and were going to keep you informed on it.

I'm just right by Fort Worth and our gas jumped 25 cents a gallon overnight because of this tropical storm which had not even been classified as a hurricane when they did it. Give me a frigging break! Moderator cut: language snip Yeah, I know, Americans are the most gullible people on the face of the earth, so hooray, another chance to stick it to them. Barf!

Tell us how you really feel......

Tried to rep you, but you know how that goes. It does get old. From some of the reports, you'd think they hoped it would be another Katrina or something, so they'd have all these big news reports to put out.

I think the media wanted a big story too. Gawd, I dislike them. Remember this:

Agree with the last 3 posters. I can almost see the media salivating over another Katrina. It's sick. What was that song in the 80s about the media? Argh, it's driving me nuts that I can't remember what it was!
