Thanks for your words; a lot of people seem to have their opinions about me because I am from AZ. If I were to have a conversation about movies, there seems to be a problem about religion, even if I talk about Ice Age. Just today a man at work, said he hates New Mexico because a park charge admission, that he thought he should enter for free, and would never visit! ever again! I have heard this from others, about Tex, NM, AR, & other states.
I have meet some very good, sweet hearted people, that I would consider family, but even their relatives sized me up/ and they said I was good. But what if said something they did not like/ not that I would…I am very careful and respect others, and their thoughts.
You might be right about the area, & I do not what to say were I am, in respect of the people here.
Thank You

5min from Canyon Lake...yep, beautiful area and a hot spot. I help an old man ranch just a few miles up from your area in the Fischer area. He was looking for someone to do the job and I said I'd do it for free in exchange for him teaching me how to get things done in the country--like repairing fences, corraling cattle and spitting tobacco (jk). I'm hoping to buy a bigger tract of land in the future, so these finer things I'm trying to learn on my weekends. Having a blast. Just the other day, I stepped out of the barn for some coffee and I nearly ran right head on to the largest buck I've ever seen. The size of a Honda Civic. unbelievable.
How many acres did you get?

Hey, my lot is in Fischer, at the Rancho Del Lago area, that is a new subdivision, and I bought .63 acres..it is so beautiful, I have been planning 8 month, the style, and a natural landscaping. I also hope the back yard will be good enough for HGTV...

As far as the people having religious problems, what do you mean exactly. I haven't noticed any problems other then the fact that people talk about their church alot, which is a good thing. Remember you came from Arizona....you are now in the bible belt. People might be more religious than in AZ. I came from Utah....another very religious area, so I am in the minority (religiously speaking) here but the people are very nice no matter what their religion. I still have my Utah plates on my car and haven't been stopped so far by police. Maybe it matters what part of Oklahoma you moved too, but all I am saying is give Oklahoma a chance. You need to do your part too and be friendly. Hope you like your stay

Wow, is that the one that is right next to the Fischer Store bowling alley? If so, I rememebr driving through there to take a look about 2-3 years ago, maybe more. It had lots of potential and I think quite a lot of the lots were sold then. Good luck and let us know how your home building experience progresses.

You are welcome. If they have comments from you coming from Arizona, I can imagine what they are thinking about me coming from Utah (mormon state) No one has said anything so far though. I think you will like it here. I am only here for 3 years then on to Texas also.

Oh yea. Most of the people that go to church in Texas say one thing and do another. I am not much of a church "goer" but know many deacons, ministers and church members of different denominations. I have seen LOTS of them in the clubs boozing it up...dirty dancing to an extreme. Most so called "christians" need to read the Bible and live the life if they are going to call themselfes christians.

So true. Gotta love the Christians who're too hung over to make it to church on Sunday so god can forgive them for last nights sins
