Last trip I took there, my brother was doing 100MPH on the highway. (Autopista Maracaibo-Barquisimeto)
Instead of Western Hemisphere, they should just change it to Western Civilization

It is probably the fastest stretch of roadway in Western Hemisphere by Posted Speed Limit.

That road in Venezuela you mention, that looks very unsafe for 100 mph. Wow! Yes, I looked at the link you provided.

God bless Texas!

Fleece? Really? Is the state making you go on it? That is like saying the state is making you play the lottery. I don't think fleecing has a part in something you choose to opt-in.

I didn't say it was safe,
we actually passed three different towns that had speed bumps to force people to slow down

I suppose that military convoys are not welcomed on that road.

Look at what happened to a Humvee in Germany:

Default AutoBahn crashes

AutoBahn crashes - YouTube

At least it will be quick and painless...

I hope TX gets equal or better stats than Germany, otherwise car insurance rates in those counties will go up.

Far more people are injured or killed at red lights & stop signs in the city driving than on straight stretches of country roadway.

I ain't worried.

This has bad idea written all over it. On my short rural drive home I have to contend with people tailgating me at 65 (which is speeding already) and then cutting me off just to get ahead one car length (it depends on my mood, sometimes they aren't allowed to cut me off). I would hate to see what these clowns would do if the speed limit was raised another 30mph. My point is there are sorry drivers all over, and I am sure there will be sorry drivers on the 85 mph stretch. And that stretch will be prone to more serious accidents.
