Are you kidding? In other parts of the country, the cop would've tasered her for blinking the wrong way! The lady in the video actually reminds me of my mom, and I still don't see anything wrong with what the cop did *shrugs*

I think the cop should have followed her to the nearest "relieving" station. He should have looked into "totality of circumstances". An older lady driving 16 mph over the limit....could she be a drug mule or a pimp Mama? Possibly. What's more likely, though? What she says: she just really needs to pee really badly.

I've had 2 Moderator cut: Off-Topic traffic stops where they were over & done with in less than 5 minutes, where money was the only thing on their mind & they wanted to get back out Moderator cut: Off-Topic to harassing "speeding" motorists. These are quick, but not THAT quick when your bladder's bloody full to the limit!

On the other hand, one must always comply with an officer's orders. This is why an officers orders have to be proper in the first place. Why didn't she show ID? Maybe she thought that if she showed it, it would take longer for her to pee. Who the heck knows? Only she knows.

The way it went down, though, was absolutely despicable, on both sides. His side more than on her side, but both handled the situation abhorrently. It could have been worse: he could have tazed or shot her.

Pathetic.

She was belligerent from the get-go and as a 77 year old "lady" she should have complied with the officer's request instead of being an "AH" herself. Cops are generally extremely cool if you cooperate and make their jobs easier. I bet she would have been sent on her way with a "Please be careful!" warning had she not been so utterly difficult to deal with. It's happened to me on more than one occasion, where they just tell me to slow down.

She had a smart mouth, and the officer was being way too hard-nosed about it. Both parties showed a lack of courtesy and common sense.

I'm usually pretty pro civil liberties when it comes to cop confrontations but she clearly refused to produce her ID and was resisting arrest. Didn't see anything the cop did that was out of line. Could he have begged and cajoled her more to produce her ID? Sure. But with that attitude why extend her any courtesy.

I think he went too far. She almost immediately informed him she had a urinary issue. If you've never had a UTI, you might not understand. This isn't just an urge to pee--it can be an excruciatingly painful situation--extreme agony. So I can see how she might have responded as she did if that was the situation. I agree that she should've just produced her ID & insurance, but I think the cop did go too far.
