PS I just returned from the Seattle area, where there hadn't been rain for over 90 days. And it hit 100F in August of this year.

Wait, Seattle is in the NE? When did that happen?

Sorry have to disagree. When all my family visited from Baltimore this year as well they agreed the humidity is very low here compared to up there. It was 10-20 degrees warmer here though.

The only time it's humid too me is right after a rainfall down here.

The coastal states have it way worse, however I have heard Houston is bad.

Me culpa! Blame it on not having yet had my second cuppa Starbucks this morning.

ive gotta also agree that the dallas is NOT humid. there is some but not much. def hot though. i was there in may for the golf tournament and it was definitely hot. at night felt cooler than the nights in houston where i live.

also, if coming LA, it will be an adjustment. but id say San antonio has the best weather out of all the major cities. if you lived in the I.E. out in LA i dont think it will be a huge adjustment.

I'm in the process of moving as well; from Chicago to San Antonio or Houston. I work in accounting/finance and have a young chid. Which location has better options for the single parent family? What areas would you suggest to raise a young child but also be near great schools and after school programs/extra curricular activities? I do not have employment lined up.
