The State of Texas was caught spying on us with hidden cameras on the highway...The took pictures of LP's and sent letters to the car owners asking questions, like where were you going...why were you going there. The news media even showed where the cameras were hidden.

This is a test. A test to see how much they can get away with before such surveillance becomes overt. If this had been an actual emergency, you would have known because martial law would have already been declared. This is ONLY a test.

I think there was a thread about this in the NM Forum.

And, texasborn, don't you think this may get more responses in the Texas Forum?

There's nothing to prompt political discussion, so I believe this is better suited for the Texas forum.

Of course it couldn't possibly be in the name of traffic planning and future development, it has to be some nefarious plot.

I think that we are all just going to have to get used to it. It's all over the world. In Great Britain they use the cameras for more than traffic monitoring. Just think of how many business surveillance cameras are already in use in and outside of buildings in Austin.

However, what went on in Austin looks like a true traffic survey.

Britons are the most spied-upon people on planet Earth after the Chinese. I'll fight until my last breath against that kind of garbage here.

I don't imagine those cameras are going to last long now that they've been 'outed'. Someone will take them out with a bumper or shotgun.
