I like to think of it as the three year old that loses a game and gets mad, so instead of trying to figure out how to win or play again, they just throw the game board across the room and stick their lip out....

I, too, think that is a good way of putting it.

Over the last 4 years, I have received a pay raise every year... without fail. Obama has had nothing to do with that. In fact, I'm a federal contractor on a military base, and because of Obama's promise to show his hatred of the (mostly conservative) military and military supporters, he's drastically slashing the military budget.

So, although I can in no way credit him with my raises, I can sure credit him if I lose my job!!!

Isn't it ironic that Texas,...

Texas has been booming since 1970 or before. In part due to some people wanting to get out of the rust belt and freezing azz cold, or other. At the same time, Texas has retained its values of enterprise. Companies recognize that. None of the above is related to current U.S. politics, but in spite of it.

Here is irony ... when there is a Repub majority in Congress the economy does better (ie: Clinton starting in '94 and the last 2 years) ... the opposite is true with when the Dems are the majority in Congress ... economy folded like a wet paper towel when the Dems took control in the Bush administration in '06.

Y'all need to be aware that Congress sets policy! Anything less is just plain stoopid! POTUS can do some things through executive orders and appointments but Congress is the 800 lb gorilla!

Texas economy benefits some from the above statement(s) or suffers some but is also insulated in that the economy is majorly energy driven (always a need for energy) and other wise varied. Also is the 8th largest economy in the world!

When did Obama promise to show his hatred for the military? I must have missed that speech. He may cut military spending in the future to help bring the deficit down, but he hasn't cut it yet. http://rogueoperator.files.wordpress...ing_trends.png

Sure. That was when Domestic (US) Peak Oil set in.

Thems that sell Oil, make money. Thems that use it, lose it.

Or much of recent prior.

About the only thing towards policy or politics that could change it would be taking US off Oil.

But so far policy is to Take, Lie, Cheat, Steal, and Kill, along with Pollute US and the World to maintain the habits.

I agree with what you wrote, just wanted to add that I'm pretty sure Texas had similar percentages when Bush was president and before that when he was Governor of Texas as well.
