BTW my Daddy sure loved his Sunday night supper of beans, cornbread, and buttermilk-cornbread crumbled in the glass of milk of course!
Seems like this is more common (dinner for heavier meals, whether noon or evening) than I realized.

I had cornbread and either "sweet" milk or buttermilk at my grandparents--we never ate it at home, and I don't remember ever seeing it as part of a meal. It was always a snack by itself!

Rep point for that if nothing else. Thank you, Ddee, for putting your wishes into such good and easy-reading thoughts and expression. I so agree.

IMHO, for all Americans to start sounding alike? Well, what reason what could such as travesty be wished to be implemented other than some sort of desire to actually destroy diversity? As in those sweet and nice and interesting distinctions between regions that are TRUE diversity??

Isn't this obvious?

The biggest meal of the day is "dinner. That means, Monday through Saturday, supper is dinner.

On Sundays, lunch is dinner.

Now doesn't that make perfect sense?

Brunch is my favorite meal of the day because it gives me an excuse to drink alcohol before noon.

Honestly, "supper" just makes me think of Little House on the Prairie. I don't personally know anyone who uses it.
