I'm only going to respond to points I addressed in my previous post, so please don't be offended because I don't reply to your whole post in its entirety.

I'm going to preface my response by saying that I find that the biggest hypocrite, political commentator/entertainer out there is a leftist (Michael Moore.) I could go on and on about how much of a hypocrite he is by bashing capitalism when capitalism has made him a millionaire, how he uses misleading and sometimes wrong facts and talk about the over-sensationalized BS, but that's not a topic we're on. Though I have my political beliefs and philosophies, I do try and remain as objective as possible.

That's fair enough. Want to talk about hateful liberal commentators? We can if you'd like. Roseanne Barr, Keith Olbermann come to mind. "Hate" is not mutually exclusive to conservatives and I'm not trying to imply that is. You asked the second part twice, so it shall be addressed below.

No, I haven't. If you would provide me the links to an UN-BIASED new source about conservatives being silenced or somehow deprived of their free speech rights, I'll go ahead and read them with an open mind. I do attend college and the conservative students do speak their mind without being "censored." In fact, everyone's encouraged to speak their mind regardless of political philosophy.

But anyway, what IS the "right wing hate machine". What does it consist of? Who and/or what is its make-up? What makes up its core principles?

I define the "right-wing hate machine" as conservative (since we're talking right-wing here. If you want to bring up hateful things said or written by left-wing pundits, I won't contest they're hateful since both sides play on emotion. Just look at all the leftist commentators and politicians using the shoot shooting to push gun control) political commentators or politicians themselves who attack a person or group of persons to incite their base. See Rush Limbaugh calling Sandra Fluke a ****, Ann Coulter voicing support of the murder of Dr Tiller (the abortion doctor), Glenn Beck's musing about how he wants to kill Michael Moore, ect. I could go on and on. They're entertainers who make money off of it, they've found their niche, I suppose.

Am I part of it, in your opinion? I freely and proudly proclaim myself to be a paleo-conservative of the old "Jeffersonian Southern States Rights" variety. So, am I a part of this right-wing hate-machine you speak of?

Judging from my time on this forum and seeing you post, you seem very well-educated and civil in your responses. I would say no. Once again, conservative and hateful are not mutually exclusive. You seem like the kind of person who I'd like to have a Shiner Bock with.

I am a pastor, did my seminary at Dallas Theological (one of the most conservative seminaries around). I am an extremely dedicated and devout Christian. And yes, I am a socialist. I don't care if you think that I am lieing. I'm not, I'm a man of very deep principles.

Since you can't argue anything substantive, and instead want to resort to ad hom insinuations I'm not going to bother engaging you in discussion. Go listen to some more Faux News and Rush Limbaugh and bury your head in the sand to reality.

No, I am no insinuating anything. I am outright saying, a committed socialist is one who will lie for their ideology. If the shoe fits? Wear it. If it doesn't? Then I will be more than happy to discuss/debate the relationship of Christianity to Socialsm.

Fine. Now spell out those very deep principles in the same way I earlier spelled out the one of conservatism. Nothing hard about that, is there? In other words, list the basics and underlying qualifyiers that support the liberal principles (or socialistic) ones. I would be especially interested in hearing your connection about the beliefs of Jesus to those of modern day socialists.

I caught this post just as I was about to log off, but just wanted to say it is always nice to discuss/debate with intelligent folks like you who can keep it civil and reasonable, even in heated disagreement. I wish there were more around...

Shiner Bock is third tier swill. Aim higher or just drink a Lone Star. Now that that is outta the way. Texas will eventually turn a purplish tint and stay that way for a spell, before we can even talk about Texas turning blue. Which will mean, gasp, that Texans(the natives and them stinking transplants) will have to learn how to compromise. I know, I know it'll be hard, but sometimes you just have to do these things. It's kinda like when you were a little kid and you were swinging on the swing set at recess.....you had to eventually allow the next kid to have their turn at swinging. So is life!

Then think about where middle class areas are in San Antonio. (also keeping in mind Bexar County is only 30% white not Hispanic or Latino)

District 21 voted for Lamar Smith (R)

US Representative, District 23 Voted for Cuico (R)

Then if you have more time go ahead and look at the census tract map and compare
ethnicity .


Do all middle class Hispanics (Bexar County) vote for republicans? No.
Do all rich white guys vote for republicans? No
Is it a generalization and a little antidotal? Yes and so is the political arena.
