Default Where's best collision of TX Climate & Housing?

I'm selling my home to move back west again (from Tucson but it's pricey now). I'm looking for the best area for combo of mild weather w/out bad humidity & cheap housing. Alpine & Anna for example seem like a pretty good housing/climate package.
Sooooo.... Where's the best place to live cheaply with reasonable weather in Texas? Need to know NOW, as somebody else lives HERE in June!
Thanks, Technoid

Austin has a lot of tech-type jobs and low humidity and lots to do. I'm not sure how housing prices compare to Tucson, but I'd think if you didn't want to live too close in you could find something reasonable.

I am not sure I would call Austin's humidity low. I guess relative to the coast it's low, but coming from Tucson you will be for quiet a change. I live in the Austin area and love it. Median housing for the area is about $160,000 I believe.

Default We're in Richardson...

Not too bad on the cost of living and the humidity is worse than the coast areas, but very mild in the winter. Jobs are everywhere and good pay compared to most cities compared with cost of living...

TEXAS IS THE BEST PLACE! The better living areas in texas are easy to find ask the people who are experienced. Dont live in Dallas, unless you like high crime and 3 hours traffic back ups! I like to go to Dallas only to party and hang out! NOT TO LIVE. The best living areas would be TEXARKANA, NASH, WAKE VILLAGE, PLEASANT GROVE, CORPUS CHRISTI. There are several other places, but i only like the ones listed! Cost of living is a average, low crime rates, great shopping areas, rush hours isnt so bad (only on richmond road) i love texas, and would not live any where else. AUSTIN is also a great place. HOME OF THE LONGHORNS!! UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS!

Northeast Texas, say from Greenville to Mt Pleasant is very nice. The humidity is probably a bit higher, but you will be just east of the 'dry line' and 'tornado alley'. Sulphur Springs, Mt Pleasant, Mt Vernon, and surrounding communities have good schools. Largest city is around 50,000 (Greenville). We have Texas A & M university at Commerce nearby. Not as many job opportunities out here, largest employer in the area are the school districts. Really good place to raise your family... I did!

Default Are you totally Nuts?

Corpus Christi as one of the best places to live in Texas? Are you nuts? I have lived there for 20 years and not by choice. My wife wanted to stay due to her family being here and I was trying to be the good husband. Let's see what it has. In 2007 they finally got busted for violation of federal law in the chemical plants. Sending tons of pollution in the air that raises the risk of heart disease and cancer to a all time level of high. HUGE drug crimes. Ignorant people that actually say that the area is the most beautiful place in the world yet most have never even been out of the area. Police corruption like I have never seen. Housing to high for the pay. Ugly beaches. Need I go on? OH. I travelled the United States quite a bit before I settled here with my wife and lived in many states so I have some idea of what I am actually talking about. My wifes parents have died and we are now moving. Thank God.

If you want both dry and low prices in Texas you want El Paso. Not a bad city on the high desert.

Austin? Low humidity? I guess it is all relative, if you compare Austin to LA or MS. It's EXTREMELY humid to me.
