I never play victim....I just dish back whats dished to me...You should know more than anybody....My comments are ALWAYS in response to something said first about Dallas. "Dallasites playing Victim" is a cop out phrase used by the Houstonians because most people notice that Houstonians are the sh*t starters and haters......

The big winners on AllStar Houston were the strippers and entertainers. I heard from a source that some ladies brought home over 50K from that weekend..WOW

In the 1970's I would agree with the statement Houston wants to be the "end all be all" of the state, actually Houston thought it was the "end all be all" of the USA, or the world at the time. Those days are gone and Houston has been reinventing itself ever sense, evidently with a great deal of success. I see other areas of this state that seem to have a much greater sense of entitlement than Houston these days. I wont name names to avoid another visceral and vitriolic response from unnamed posters. However Houston is a more humble city than it was years ago, and that may have something to do with why some people in East Texas may see Houston as a kinder, gentler neighbor.

My views of East Texas is that it is a hodge podge of suburban and backwoods counties. Which is which is hard to tell, but whether they are dry or not may be one clue, and who recently got elected Sheriff may have a lot to do with it as well. If they happen to be financially strapped at the time you pass through may have a lot to do with whether or not you get a speeding ticket, or pass through unimpeded. East Texas is not monolithic and probably shouldn't be treated as such..

The difference between Dallasites and us small texas town people is that we embrace our country.

No. It was just a few days ago in another thread where things were completely civil, but you just had to try and start something.

Larry McMurtry ranks Texas cities: Houston, Austin, Ft Worth, & Dallas

...and why do you ever need to dish it back out? If you were as innocent as you claim, you would just ignore it, but you clearly thrive on conflict. I can atleast admit that I like to stir things up every now and then. You do, too, and you know it.

And the truth is....No I don't like to stir things up..but when someone else stirs it up I do tend to step in and defend Dallas....now I can admit to that.

and as for my comment you referenced...thats not stiring things up...thats stating the obvious....and you know that was an accurate statement I made.....was I lying?

No, it isn't. I, a native Houston, have defended and given props to Dallas numerous times. Half of the "Houstonians" you debate with aren't even natives, and some of them don't even live here.

Regardless of whether you feel the statement was accurate, it wasn't necessary. That's the point.

It really is, and is yet another over-used word that doesn't mean anything anymore.... like "Swag".
