Smile Moving to Amarillo from Lubbock

I have lived in West Texas all of my life, so I know what the climate is like, but never Amarillo exactly. Lubbock and Amarillo are so much alike yet so different. We are looking to buy a house. What are the good areas (zip codes) in town? Also I have a 2 yr degree and am going back to school to get a bachelors. What kinds of jobs pay decent ($9/hr+) that don't require weekends, esp. Sundays and will work w/ school?

Any suggestions about anything would be great. Thanks.

(I can't wait to get away from all the college kids, bad drivers, and saturated job market.)

Default Zip Codes

Hi,

I would recommend looking for homes in zips 79106, 79109 and 79121. These are located in the southwest part of town which is the newer, nicer area. You'll be just minutes away from the mall, the medical center and tons of restaurants. There are new developments going up all the time in this area.

I moved away from Amarillo several years ago, but visit frequently and I still enjoy Amarillo. I think you'll like it there!

I have thought of moving up toward Amarillo as well. Why is the crime so high?
