I don't see a contradiction between our two statements. Can you elaborate, please?

It's all the Midwestern and East Coast transplants that fled the cold and snow.

But this really is weird. It was colder in Alpine early this morning than up here in NW NM. Only a couple of degrees, but still.....I'll take the cold (such as it is in TX) over the unending heat any day.

It usually doesn't get too hot up here on the High Plains even in the summer but it can surely get cold at times. It's in the 40s today.

Here in my Midland it froze on the 19th.We have had several days in the low 90's but even that is not hot enough for me.I am ready for the months of 100's but we sure do need the rain.Last time I checked it was 48 outside.I am not liking this weather.

I'm not liking it either. I've run out of wood pellets for my stove and wondering if anyone in Lubbock even have any at this time of the year. To begin with, there's only a couple of places over there that even know what pellet stoves are. It supposed to be in the 20s here tonight.

Seconded! It's usually starting to get way too hot by now in Austin, so I'll take this nice cooler weather while we've got it.

No thank you. Let it be NORMAL. If that's 30 degrees 100 degrees or 70 degrees, it makes no difference. Let it be NORMAL. Normal is everything. Normal is all that matters, not what one likes or wishes it was always like, those are irrelevant. What is relevant is what is NORMAL and that it be like THAT, every day, always, period, no exceptions ever, not even 1 day out of 30,000,000 should be anything else but normal. Normal isn't boring, it implies stability & the lack of schizophrenia being the order of the day. For weather to not be normal is to be under the siege of chaos, mayhem & disorder.

And get these stupid clouds out of here while you're at it, save them for the summer when it's 97F and people are roasting. But that's another thread.

As it's already been explained in numerous threads, temperature swings are what's "normal" for Texas, during this time of the year. Summer is the only stable season we have.

I'm with stoneclaw. I have no problem with putting off summer for as long as we possibly can. I'm usually about ready for it, but not this year, for some reason. I also love the cloud cover.
