Preferably an area where tornados aren't too prevalent! Is there a mild area (mild summers and cold-ish winters) that anyone suggests? What about real estate values?

Thanks a million for any advise!

You can live in many places in Texas and get good weather pretty much all year long. Now remember one thing when you get here. Never add -ern when referring to places and regions in our state like those foreigners at the Weather Channel do (it's northeast Texas, it's south Texas, for example, on and on). And we have nice enough spring weather to get to any lake, stream, or river so you can par-tay! Watch out, though, when I'm at the lake. Because when I'm my boat tearing up those precious waters, I'm splashing the other guys and gals and parting the rising waves with pure zeal, baby!!!
