What about the Mexicans? I feel they should have been added to the list.

Funny, I was about to say you were pretty unbalanced as well. You've been posting snide remarks post after post after post. Ironically after inviting me to dinner. LOL. Dude, I'm starting to think that is how you are. Kind of have this phony fake friendliness about you yet at the same time condescending as hell. And you don't even see it. Go back and read your posts. Just do me that favor. Re-read what you wrote and tell me honestly that you are not being condescending. And the funny thing is, this whole time while you address your insults at me, I've been trying to keep the topic on San Francisco and Houston. Yet you just can't help yourself. It's pathological. And to think all I did was ask you to comment on the 6.7 median home price to median income in SF and you take that as "calling you out". Those are your words. I simply wanted you to respond to that. Not post 5 different times insulting me post after post. I think whatever Texan you had in you is long gone, you are all Bay Area now.

I never retracted my offer for dinner. I never insulted you either. Please prove otherwise.

I have agreed with many of the things you have said and respectfully offered personal perspective on points we did not agree on. Perhaps we just do not mesh well in our debate methods.

I have to tell you, though, I do enjoy the different perspectives. It's a shame you take such offense at my disagreeing with you, because it does make for stimulating conversation. I certainly take no offense until you start calling names, which seems to be the place you go in frustration with me.

Like I said, it's too bad.

I'll take a page from your book here and offer a truce. If I state to you that I mean no offense and my comments are not personal attacks, rather I am merely attempting to state my position, will you take me at my word and perhaps read my posts with a more objective tone of voice in your head? If you will, I will do the same, as long as things don't get sideways.

Maybe if we both do that, they won't get sideways, right?

Please in the future when you address something I posted that is not about me, do not make it about me. Unless I make the debate about me, which I never do because I have no interest in discussing myself except when forced to. If you can stick to the issue at hand, I see no reason why we can't exchange dialogue. I will not insult you if the thread or debate stays on topic and it's not personal. I don't mind people disagreeing with me, in fact I like it. But disagree with the facts posted, don't inject some side comment about myself that you think will further your argument. When I posted that first statistic, it was not about you. Had nothing to do with you except the fact you lived in SF which is why I addressed it to you.

This thread seems to be more about Texas than Houston. Moved to Texas forum.

Okay, let's see how it goes.

And if it isn't too late--I will restate that I agreed with you way back at the outset of all of this that the price of houses in San Francisco is stupid.

Heck, Houston should be offended because, from personal experience, H-town has the best nightlife out of ANY major city in Texas. Heck, I will go as far as to say Houston has a better nightlife than even New Orleans (and I am a fan of N.O.).

It'd have to be better than Dallas's.

Austin's nightlife is geared primarily towards the college crowd; it used to have a more diverse and vibrant nightlife than it does now, believe it or not, but that went away in the 1990s. Now it's so....fake.

I actually agree with this. From a tourist perspective N.O. offers more nightlife wise cuz its centrally located and just simply has alot to offer. But once you've done Bourbon st. 2-3 times your visit. And I explore outside of that you realize Houston has just as much oractually more to offer for residents then N.O.

Austin has a cool night life but Houston to me is more diverse and inviting.
