Id love to know what fast food place this is because, in my neck of the woods, you start out at minimum and maybe in a year you get a 10 cent raise.

As for the rest of the responders, thank you for your input, if it matters Im aiming for something I KNOW for a fact I can get, as opposed to moving with no job and have to worry about funds drying up. Also coming from one of the highest taxed states in the nation, your paycheck doesnt go too far because they take a nice fat chunk out of it in taxes (both state and federal), combined with the high COL its nearly impossible, again where I am, to live on 7.25/hr. Add in the Obamacare baloney and you get little hours at **** pay.

Fast food business would close there doors in my old neck of the woods if they didn't offer more than minimum wage. Heck, I saw people making over minimum wage walk off the job for better paying oilfield jobs. It got so bad fast food businesses had to almost double minimum wage in order to keep workers. Baskin Robins was offering a $1,000 sign on bonus lol

Thats probably because the economy where you are/were isnt stagnant, and probably hadnt been for the last 30 years. Seriously, there are very few jobs in the area, and what few jobs there are (outside of fast food/restaurant work) are high skilled jobs (ie you need at LEAST a 4 year degree to have your application even looked at) Part of the reason Im tryin to leave this hellhole is the absolute lack of opportunities here

You sound pretty desperate, which if you are not careful, can lead you from one hellhole to another.

Just think about it a little before you decide on your move, it could work for you sure.. but it could also totally backfire on you.

Trying to do my research ahead of time. Pretty much anything is better than where I am, and if employment opportunities really are so plentiful it SHOULD prove to be a prudent idea.

Aim higher than minimum wage. I was making more in high school than the current minimum wage.

Seek out warehouse or telemarketing jobs. Those should at least get you 10 or more an hour.
Yep theres actually two big telemarketing companies here that are always hiring and pay well above any minimum wage.

Sorry; I haven't read all of your previous posts.

Yes, Texas' economy is very different than New York.
