There's too much preoccupation and obsession with labels and names. People should focus on what we all have in common: being "Americans". Once down that road of using simple-minded labels, real thinking likewise goes down the crapper...

Anyway, God bless Yankees! ha ha

RepDFW? If you are a native Texan, then why would anyone consider you a "yankee"...? Surely there is a mistake here if anyone pins that on you!

Tell me who they are and I will go set 'em straight, my friend! LOL

Well, I'm probably the least Texan Texan out there. Most people who meet me would never guess I'm from here originally.

I've heard people say that Texans are the South's Yankees. Is your mind blown?

Yes. Now that you've done that please explain why they would say that. I haven't lived up north but where we lived in NC was almost all transplants from New England and I know transplants here in SA as well. While nice they are nothing like Texans and the ones here are surprised by the culture and not just the Hispanic stuff.

It has nothing to do with them being Northeners or transplants. It's a reference to the stereotype of Texans having a condescending attitude toward people from other states. Similar to the "know it all" stereotype Southerners label Northerners with.
