I'm interested in learning about help for families with defiant, unmotivated, boundary-pushing teenagers. Are there any good programs with KNOWN high success rates? I would like to hear some personal testimonies rather than heresay. Especially Texas locations but would consider anywhere!

I'm not sure what the qualifications are for admittance to the Boys Ranch, but it's in the Panhandle. You might call them and ask.

I worked with a ministry out in Hallsville for a year and a half called Heartlight ministries. I can assure you that your child will be dealt with in a loving, but firm way! I was a live-in staff at one of the boys homes on the property.

If you have anymore questions, please feel free to drop me a line! I'll be more than happy to help you and get you in contact with them..

You might check into Happy Hills Farms in Granbury TX. It is a beautiful place and has a very good success record.

I also would recommend Happy Hills Farms in Granbury. I live in Granbury. Before I moved here I saw Happy Hills Farms featured on one of Dr. Phil's show. He sent a troubled boy there and the boy loved the place and seemed to be excelling there at the time. I hope he still is.

Best of luck.

Teen Challenge is more focused on the drug rehab aspect but might be worth checking out. Unless you have an aversion to the christian aspect, which may or may not be a factor with the troubled teen to begin with.....
