Thanks hsmom28. I have read some comments on other forms that have mentioned the same issues for the coast. I have been checking into parks in New Braunfels, and there seem to be some very nice parks. I really don't mind have Jan/Feb in the 60's. That would be heaven to me!

Thank you Vintage Life. I went right to the website that you supplied. It is a very nice park and area. I am seriously thinking about it. It was so nice that they posted the temp/rain for all of the months. I would really consider staying there plus I have wanted to experience the riverwalk in San Antonio which looks close to the park (but not too close). Thank you again for the link.

I'd vote for the hill country. The border is pretty bad overall. Possible Corpus Christi or the Hill country, Fredricksburg, Kerrville would also be my recommendation. Sorry I, don't know about RV parks but there are several around CorpusC that are close to the Gulf and you should be able to find something nice.

Thanks for the info augiedogie. That's exactly what I'm concerned about. I'll check the RV parks out in the CC area.

New Braunfels/Gruene is a great place to winter. (lots of folks from MN & Iowa rent Sbahn area condos from Dec-Feb). NB has lots to see & is 30 min. to SA & 45 min. to Austin.

Be aware of flood plains though. I remember RV parks getting nailed (the RV park under I 35) in 3 different "100 year" floods over the past 15 years.

New Braunfels...flooded again

If I was a snowbird I would go to southern Arizona in the winter. Love the winters there.

Thank you hound 109. Your link took me to the Texas Challenge, which was extremely informative. There's so much to think about when you're going to an area that you've never been before and don't know anyone either.
