I think this sums it up pretty well. DFW reminds me of Oklahoma, and Oklahoma is VERY protestant. Even though the statistics say otherwise, the Houston area almost seems like it is majority Catholic sometimes. Not to the extent of San Antonio or El Paso, of course, but Houston seems much more Catholic than DFW even if the actual stats don't support that.

Well, actually Dallas, Harris, and Collin counties have more Catholics than any one protestant denomination (yes, even including Southern Baptists). However, when you lump all evangelical protestant denominations together, they outnumber Catholics in both by a good amount.

Houston also seems more Buddhist, Muslim, Islamic, & everything else.

If you look at a map of the Bible Belt, Dallas is at the heart of the Bible Belt in Texas while Houston is right at the edge.
