Hi all,
Does anyone have a BnB recommendation in the Hill country area? preferably around Fredericksburg.

Www.fbglodging.com Gastehaus Schmidt reservation service

I have stayed at several of their properties and been very pleased. I tend to prefer the "guest house" type where you have the whole cottage to yourself rather than a typical B&B.

We like The Cottages at Limestone on Main. They serve a very nice breakfast in the privacy of your own cottage. Neither my husband nor myself are fans of the communal meals served at some B & Bs, so this was ideal. The hosts bring it in on a silver tray--cottages have a fireplace & little front porch--really cute & different.

Hey guys, thanks for your comments! I don't know why so many BnBs do the communal thing ...I mean, isn't the whole point of BnB is to get away from civilization with a bit of privacy?

I'll check the links you provided.

Oh, hi Neddy, remember me? How's your land in Sisterdale (was is Sisterdale or some place north of Boerne)? My place in Stonewall still has no cabin (hopefully construction will start this year) but the entire 290/Stonewall area is perking up with wineries and all kinds of wine-related businesses. Looks like we made a good investment in 2009/10 before all this biz sprung up. Saw that Texas is now #2 in the US for wine and awards. Go Texas!

P.S> Hellpaso...where in RGV? I'm from the Valley. Now living out of State, hoping to convince the girl to move to Texas...not even the majestic beauty of the Tetons can make me stay away....

There is a very good, and sweetly remote BandB outside Fredericksburg near Luckenbach called the Full Moon Inn. We've stayed there before and really liked it. They have several little cabins - we stayed in the larger one, which was built in the mid 1880s. Very cool.

Excellent breakfast and friendly owners.

Doss1, The full moon is on old Luckenbach road/1376. Very pretty. Do you want in town? 2 wee cottages are pretty cool, private hot tubs etc. About 4 blocks from the main strip.
