I will agree with the Houston Galleria becoming another Mall of America behemoth. No doubt. Meanwhile, Northpark Center has become a museum. It was constructed a year before the Kimbell Arr museum in Fort Worth. Caruth built two stores in the area with one being Medallions and the other called Caruth Plaza which is a little mall located north of the Shops at Park Lane. North Park not only commands flagship stores to be built within it, but so does the lead-in retail centers such as Preston Center, Preston Hollow Vilkage, and Mockingbird Station. It really has become the centerpiece for an iconic collection of shopping centers.

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) welcomed more than 62.5 million passengers in 2021 making the Airport the second busiest in the world by passenger volume according to Airports Council International (ACI). DFW saw a 58.7% growth over 2020 and has its sights set on returning to 2019 numbers in 2022. This increase showcases DFW’s collaboration with airline partners who continue to expand their routes and services at the Airport.

I've always felt like counting how many numbers of flights and passengers is like counting the number of buzzing flies around a dead horse. Where DFW really shines is as an Airport City. As airlines and airports are going to have to alter their business models in order to survive in a world of endless pandemics, DFW airport is going to thrive.

You realize that within this article, Atlanta is first not second (and DFW second). As much craziness that dallasboi has posted, he’s right on that one.

The better argument would be that in a normal year, Chicago O’Hare is the second busiest.

I'm not sure Chicago is going to get back to second. American isn't even really growing there and they're putting most of those resources into DFW. United is growing in Chicago, but not at the same pace.

Wouldn't be surprising to me to see that gap grow, if anything.

That would be very surprising. Metro Chicago might have a shrinking population, but the marker area called Chicagoland is awesome. The airport I find surprising is Denver. Where does it find all those flying customers? Skiers on winter vacation?

Some of these Austin ones don't seem to be luxury shopping. Is Soho House considered retail?

If I'm not mistaken there's a Goorin Bros in Dallas.
