Default Rain Showers in Texas

Hi, folks. I just got the hankering to start a new thread. I'm doing so as I look outside my apartment window. It's raining outside. Hard. And I'm glad. Are any of you folks getting some good rain? Are you hoping for any? We need some, no doubt, especially for replenishment of our lake levels.

So, guys, how about sharing on this? Do you still have any drought in your area (those that do, anyway)? Hope I can hear from you.

I looked at the radar and it is only an isolated storm that is over your area.

There isn't much going on anywhere else... That is for this moment.

Thing's are supposed to pop up in the afternoon. It's going to be 80 degrees today in San Antonio, so we should get some daytime heating.

We do need rain. It hasn't rained in about a month. We haven't had a good hard rain since maybe the summer.

Yes, we are hoping for rain.

You may want to hang on to your seat, Hyun-Soo. A cold front is coming. Your city's high tomorrow in SA: 62 after a low of 50.

We had enough rain in Marble Falls on the night of July 3rd (??) to last us awhile. We still have 6 or 7 bridges washed out and if anyone farther down the Lower Colorado has seen my other trash can I'd like to get it back!

I guess we'll have some later this week, looks like a front is definitely coming.

My sister says it's 36 now in Fort Worth.

Back here at the same time it's 81 at Hobby Airport.

Supposed to be like this til mid-week.

It's 31 with freezing rain here in Abilene right now. The meteorologists have been VERY wrong with their forecasts lately. Yesterday, they said it would hit near 80 degrees and it never got above 45 degrees. Today, they're still insisting that the freezing rain won't come until the overnight. Should I make coffee and invite them over to check out the ice on my deck? LOL, sometimes I think it would help if they just looked out the window!

Well.....before I left Midland in August of this year, I had not seen so much rain in West Texas for a long time. "Normal" (which WT doesn't often see) is 12-14 inches a year, and it was already up to about 18 at that time, if I recall correctly.

While people DID complain about the humidity (including yours truly..), the rain was so badly needed to replenish local lakes/reserviors....however, it will take more than one good year to truly break the drought.....and the recent snow will help add to the yearly total.

The country was green all the way from Alamogordo/El Paso to the hill country......I haven't seen it look this good in YEARS.

While I love my arid native WT, I am glad to see some relief from the years-long drought! Rain is predicted for the next two days for both Midland and here. We can both use it!

Yea, the weathermen have totally missed with this forecast. I'm near Denton and we're 'supposed' to be in the mid 40s today dropping into the mid 30s...well, it's been in the mid 30s and dropping into the low 30s since I woke up this morning! They're always so biased and conservative when forecasting winter weather here.

Banana Belt. That's a good one, Lilypad.

Be careful up there in the Panhandle. You never know what those others might do on those roads.
