starfields,I'm glad you like M/O.I don't begrudge anyone liking living there and am not trying to change anyone's mind. But outsiders come here to get accurate info on places like M/O,and they deserve the truth instead of being told that M/O is like a mini Palm Springs when making life impacting decisions. Most posters here obviously agree with my take on M/O,so people thinking about moving there have the right to know what it is like. And no,it isn't envy.I have had many oppurtunities to move to M/O and make more money.I have been asked to come there by a number of general contractors, but have absolutely no desire to move there. If I want to live in a place with tall buildings,I'll move to the real deal, like Dallas.

My objections to M/O are based on lifelong observations of the area.Your criticisms of SA seem to be nothing more than a need to retaliate because you feel wounded.SA is routinely described by others as a nice place to live, and it is,as I partially described in a previous post.If you feel the childish need to run it down because I don't like M/O,be my guest.

Where is this "M/O is like a mini Palm Springs" coming from? Has anyone who actually lives here said that?

Also, what you call "accurate" is little more than your PERSONAL opinion.

Childish need to run San Angelo down? You have been running M/O into the ground for several posts running. You have a right to not like it.

So your airfield is being remodeled? It's a regional small airport. Ours--in case you aren't aware of same--is a brand-new INTERNATIONAL airport. People from SA and other towns come to Midland to fly out because connections/cargo are so much better. We are a progressive city--which is much more than I can say for San Angelo. Much of downtown is boarded up, the old businesses like Hemphill-Wells/Barnes-Pellietier gone. Beauregard is not what it once was.

You say to each his/her own, but your bitter invectives against Midland say otherwise.

If Midland were a hellhole, as you say, why are we growing and progressive?

It's desert, plain and simple. Has anybody on this board who lives here has ever claimed otherwise?
