I am relocating to College Station to take on a faculty position at Texas A&M. I am not familiar with that town and therefore I am looking for advice. I have a two part question:
(1) What are the positives/negatives for a middle age professional to live in College Station (I can imagine what it would be like for a student at the college, but I am not sure what the town has to offer to non student residents) ...
(2) Initially I will be renting an apartment until I get to know the neighborhoods. What are some of the best apartment complexes in the Bryan/College Station, particularly for professionals.

(1)

- low cost of living
- good to very good restaurants
- all the entertainment the university itself attracts, which is substantial compared to what an area the population of B/CS would otherwise attract
- I assume that there are quite a few people like you (middle aged faculty) in the area
- proximity to Houston, Austin, and DFW for other events
- very friendly people

(2)

- I have no idea, sorry
