All right one and all. We all know texas has the great star for a state symbol. If you had to choose a new symbol what would it be?

The Longhorn, they hold a LONG history in the state and some would argue the states prosperity was founded on them.

When you think of Texas what comes to mind?
longhorns of course
oil derricks
cowboy hats
the Alamo
good music
pretty girls
BBQ
and margaritas
Lots of things could symbolize Texas. Even a friendly hand shake.
But, if I had to pick just one... I'm gonna have to think on that a bit.
And then there's a whole other side to Texas that comes to mind.
NASA
big cities
high tech
aerospace
beaches
industry
politics... hmmm, think I'll try to forget that one

Of course the landscapes are beautiful, from the coastal plains, the pineywoods, the hill country, mountains and deserts, rivers and lakes, etc.
What symbolizes diversity? Because Texas, despite it's rich history and culture or rather because of it, is probably more diverse than anything else. That is easily found in it's population as well. Diversity found in it's, history, culture, people, landscapes and demography. Texas is both modern and historic and in my opinion the melting pot of the U.S. in many ways. It has it's problems too but don't we all.
I thought the longhorn was best in the beginning but I'm leaning to the six flags idea more now. Something along those lines anyway.
see y'all later

You mean the "lone star".

There are soooo many symbols to choose from, I'm not sure I could narrow it down to just one?
