Seems like these days the majority of stares comes from the really old citizens (of all races) and they have sort of a different bias - it is kind of weird - not like a hateful prejudice but more of a learned and it's always been this way kind of bias if that makes sense and even those can be turned around when they actually get to know people because their's isn't a bias built on hate. A little old lady at our church (80's) always seemed to be a bit prejudiced but then and black/white couple with two kids moved across the street from her. After she met them - they were her favorite neighbors and when they moved to New York - they continue to call her and she call them - just to chat.

I am sure that there are people in smaller West Texas cities who are opposed to inter-racial dating and marriage. However, most people are accepting or at least tolerant in my town of Abilene. We have inter-racial couples in our church. There are many inter-racial children in the schools. Of course, we have an air base with a number of inter-racial couples.

who cares what other people think. You don't want to be living your life worrying what billy bob thinks of you. Either they accept you or they don't not much you can do about that.

The best cities I have seen are the cities that tend to have a large military presence, as you tend to have more of a "melting pot" type enviornment. Thus, cities like Wichita Falls, Killeen, San Antonio are examples I would use.
The worst cites I have seen are the cities that tend to be very small, away from any large city influence. A couple of the worst ones I know of are Bowie, and Sunset Texas.

You can have many options. I have lived in South Texas, mainly hispanic area, and you see all kinds of interracial couples living and being accepted. Corpus Christi is good and anything surrounding it and south of it is good. One problem is, you may not find what you want for a living in that area. I would consider Sugar Land and Missouri City to be very accepting to interracial couples. These two cities are mainly occupied by asians and minorities, so you will be definitely safe. Houston is a little strange to me. It is a wanabe city. I live in the West Houston Side, and everyone seems to like diversity in this area. But I have heared bad things about it too. So it depends on the zipcode, as Houston is extremely large. My advice if possible go to California or Washington or if in Texas try South of Corpus Christi, including Corpus Chrisit.

My wife and I are currently living in Longview, a town of about 75k in East Texas. We were a little concerned about moving to Texas, being a wm/bf couple, but we have not had any trouble at all. I haven't noticed any odd looks, and everyone has been extremely nice. We are loving life in East Texas.

Very true...Texas is extremely diverse and people are a lot more accepting...I can say that for sure about Houston. I am a Muslim American and can say that discrimination of any kind is the last thing on my mind...though it exists in some areas. That is why I love this country more than any thing....I can be ANY race, religion and yet still have tremendous opportunities and various avenues to explore.
I don't think race or religion are as much of a factor as they used to be....we have different issues to deal with now.

Hell, come out to El Paso, you'll see some IR couples especially the military couples! That being a good thing of course!
