Now are you going to give me more of your uniformed opinion or will you actually look up some of these documents and learn something?

So Bush is the only president that goofed? Hardly...
Not only did Bill Clinton sell our country's top secret nuclear weapon & satellite encryption technology to the Chinese he committed adultery in the Oval Office.
How much more dumb & dishonest can you get?

Kind of off topic but I was in Fredricksburg a few years ago and I observed some German men taking all the sites in. You could tell they thought it was very corny. I'm sure they thought this was an American's idea of what German culture is like today. Rather than seeing it for what it was, just people having a good time, proud of this German heritage with full knowledge that people in Germany don't go around town in lederhosen. I witnessed the same scene Germany years ago. A square dance club where the men really went all out in dressing up like colorful cowboys.

I hear all the time that people have these stereotypes, but I haven't met people who actually think that. When I lived in Boston and told people I was from Texas, sometimes I'd get, "you don't sound like it," or a comment about how awful Bush was. But that was really the worst of it. When I moved to Alaska, no one in Boston asked me if people in Alaska lived in igloos. I hear people here say that's a stereotype, but seriously, when I've visited Texas since moving here, no one in Texas has asked me if I live in an igloo. When I tell people in Alaska, I want to move to Texas, I get comments about hot weather (true) or high crime (not so true. Alaska has its fair share, though most people don't seem to think we have less here). But no one has ever asked, "do they ride horses everywhere there?"

When I was in college (12yrs ago, so not long ago) one of my roommates was from Oregon. She was so surprised when she found out that our college wasn't on a ranch, that we didn't all ride horses, listen to country music, and all wear cowboy gear.
I couldn't believe that people were still so naive about Texas.
I've lived in KY the past 5 years and the thing that would really crack me up... is when I would talk about driving 10 hours in the same state. They couldn't believe how big Texas is. My friends there never asked about if I grew up on a ranch and rode horses to school, but they did enjoy my west Texas accent.

They may be the only ones in the world that think that.

Full of suburban sprawl, big SUVs, megachurches, Texas stars all around, undereducated, Christian but also high teen pregnancy and divorce rates and lots of uninsured babies, people who want to convert you to right-wing Christianity, overwhelming conceit in being from Texas. Oh, wait a minute....
