There are many people who think that our home grown Lone Star scummy & worthless politicians are only about 1/2 half as bad as the scummy & worthless politicians found in DC. Also, the best government is govt that is local...."keep your friends close & your enemies closer".....etc, etc.

If put to a vote, that's how I would vote. Note - I would NOT have voted this way prior to the Federal mega screw-ups of the Mortgage Industry & Health Insurance.... but Bush2/Obama (& the rest of the Federal politicians) HUGE c*ck-ups on these two multi trillion dollar issues has made being a US citizen for the next 30 years less financially attractive than being a Texas citizen.

In 1994 & 2004, I would not have voted this way, but I would now. For many of us who can read a balance sheet & who've been in more than a few rodeos......the federal government has truly gone thru the looking glass the past 10 years. No moaning, no pitchforks....just an opinion.

I doubt that it would be put to a vote. But if it was, Texans should say "AMF".
.
Our crummy politicians (Ted Cruz for example) are the people that are ruining DC (and their equally as stupid friends).

As much as I would love for Texas to be independent, I think that is the wrong way to go. We need a larger union, like maybe an Anglosphere Federation or even a United NATO.

Seriously, I'm am sick and tired of people crying and moaning and b*tching about Texas not being its own independent nation again. It's not going to happen. GET OVER IT.
I've never heard one person ever say this and not be joking.

I have lived all over the state of Texas for forty years.

You are kidding right? Ever since Obama got elected there have been idiots wanting this. I really want to know which idiots even voted in this poll for Texas to secede. Wish it was an open poll.

I would vote to remain part of the union. I think it was dumb for Scotland to even consider becoming independent. Being part of the United Kingdom made them strong and separating from them would have made them weak and hurt them.

Texas is powerful as part of the union but would be in a world of mess if it ever separated. Hopefully we will never be stupid enough to even consider such a move.

Then all the people with "Secede" car decals (typically they also just so happen to have anti-Obama, anti-liberal, anti-Democrat, anti-abortion, anti-Prius, anti-"big government", anti-Muslim, and "drill here, drill now" decals, as well) must be Carlin-level comedians...

Texas seceding would be great for the rest of the union. Texas will have to deal with the long complicated border and the rest of the country can finally secure the southern border. Most likely those 12 million illegal immigrants and additional ones flooding in will stay in Texas and they won't be able to go further
