It seems like Scotland will remain part of the UK after the votes were counted yesterday. If Texas were to hold a vote to become it's own country again which way would you vote? Would you vote "yes" to succeed or "no" to remain part of the union. The Scots made their choice just curious how you Texans would vote. After your vote please explain the reason for your position. Texas residents only please. Thanks. The poll is now open for one week.

I vote to succeed.

& given the decisions over the past 10 years (by bush II and nomobama) regarding the trillion dollar mortgage bailout & the health care insurance scam (which has doubled my health insurance the past two years), I would also probably vote to secede.

Small, small minded people.

Secede?

I say we go on the offensive and expand...we can hit New Mexico and Arkansas simultaneously and Oklahoma will fall right into our hands.

Now of course for this to work we are going to need to enter into into an unholy alliance with California before we can take on Mexico and follow our manifest destiny down to the Panama Canal!

What say yea?

FREEEEEEDOOOOOOOM (for us)!!!

Ok... to the people who really, really want this state to secede, I tell ya what... YOU leave!

Seriously, I'm am sick and tired of people crying and moaning and b*tching about Texas not being its own independent nation again. It's not going to happen. GET OVER IT.

I suspect any actual vote would be at least 80% stay....despite popular stereotyping, most Texans really are not that dumb....

Who is crying & moaning?

There are many people who think that our home grown Lone Star scummy & worthless politicians are only about 1/2 half as bad as the scummy & worthless politicians found in DC. Also, the best government is govt that is local...."keep your friends close & your enemies closer".....etc, etc.

If put to a vote, that's how I would vote. Note - I would NOT have voted this way prior to the Federal mega screw-ups of the Mortgage Industry & Health Insurance.... but Bush2/Obama (& the rest of the Federal politicians) HUGE c*ck-ups on these two multi trillion dollar issues has made being a US citizen for the next 30 years less financially attractive than being a Texas citizen.

In 1994 & 2004, I would not have voted this way, but I would now. For many of us who can read a balance sheet & who've been in more than a few rodeos......the federal government has truly gone thru the looking glass the past 10 years. No moaning, no pitchforks....just an opinion.

I doubt that it would be put to a vote. But if it was, Texans should say "AMF".
